Product updates and release notes for FlashTranslate.Net.

October 23, 2026

  • Added an About page in extension settings with the installed version, changelog, documentation, support and legal links, and searchable third-party open-source licenses.
  • Selection, full-page, and YouTube subtitle translation buttons now show a distinct unavailable icon when no LLM configuration can be used or your sign-in session needs attention.
  • Unavailable translation buttons now explain the issue and provide a direct route to LLM setup or sign-in. YouTube’s original captions remain available when subtitle translation cannot start.

October 10, 2026

  • Fixed an issue that could require signing in again after reopening the browser.
  • Signing out in Chrome or Edge now keeps the same account signed in on the other browser.

October 9, 2026

  • Added Microsoft Edge support alongside Chrome.
  • Added LLM setup templates for DeepSeek, Qwen, Kimi, and SiliconFlow, with a smoother default flow for Chinese users.
  • Added provider dashboard links during LLM setup.
  • Added a default settings page option, so opening the extension can take you directly to General, LLM Providers, or the Dashboard.
  • Improved sign-in and cloud sync handling so guest configurations are preserved more reliably after logging in.
  • Fixed cases where newly merged guest configurations could overwrite an existing cloud default.

September 16, 2026

  • Translation panels now display more reliably on sites with custom dark themes. Full-page settings, selection translation, subtitle settings, and model menus keep their intended background instead of appearing transparent.

September 15, 2026

  • When your session expires, selection, full-page, and YouTube subtitle translation now provide clearer sign-in recovery actions that take you back to the extension settings.
  • YouTube subtitle translation can now keep a visible sign-in reminder and resume translation after you sign in again.
  • LLM configurations that belong to another account are now locked more clearly, with private details hidden while still allowing local-only cleanup.
  • Translation reliability controls now include request timeouts, separate retry budgets for network errors and response-format errors, and a success-rate chart in the usage dashboard.
  • Google Gemini translation now uses Gemini’s native structured output mode, improving reliability for selection, full-page, and subtitle translation.
  • YouTube subtitle menus and sign-in prompts now recover when the player replaces its UI nodes during navigation or playback changes.
  • Full-page translation retries now clean up partial batch results before trying again, avoiding duplicate or stale translated blocks after response-format errors.

August 28, 2026

  • FlashTranslate now uses clearer localized names that highlight AI-powered web and YouTube translation.
  • Full-page and YouTube subtitle translations now include limited page or video context, helping preserve the meaning of titles, topics, and proper names.
  • Automatic YouTube subtitle segmentation now adapts to the source subtitle language for German, English, Spanish, French, Japanese, Korean, and Russian.
  • Full-page and YouTube subtitle translations now display correctly when Gemini returns supported structured response wrappers or JSON code fences.
  • YouTube subtitle overlays now refresh as soon as a translation for the current subtitle arrives.

August 9, 2026

  • Signing back in after an expired session now restores all of your cloud-stored LLM configurations.
  • Your cloud configurations now replace stale local configurations left over from a different account or environment.
  • Deleting a configuration now syncs reliably across your devices, so deleted configurations do not reappear after a later sync.

August 8, 2026

  • Removed the unnecessary tabs permission. FlashTranslate.Net now requests only the browser permissions needed for its current features.
  • The first-install experience and background session refresh continue to work as before.
  • This release does not change the extension’s user-facing translation features.
