Install the extension
Section titled “Install the extension”Chrome
Section titled “Chrome”- Open the Flash Translate listing on the Chrome Web Store (link added here once the listing is live) and click Add to Chrome.
- Confirm the permission prompt Chrome shows you.
- Pin the Flash Translate icon in your toolbar for quick access (click the puzzle-piece icon, then the pin next to Flash Translate).

Safari
Section titled “Safari”Safari support (desktop and mobile) is in active development and not yet available. This section will be filled in with the App Store link and setup steps once it ships — check the Pricing page for current platform availability.
First-run setup wizard
Section titled “First-run setup wizard”The first time you open the extension after installing, a short wizard walks you through setup:
- Choose your native language — used to skip translating text that’s already in your language, and as your default interface language.
- Sign in or continue as guest — sign in with Google, Apple, or email/password to unlock subscriptions and cross-device sync, or click “Continue as guest” to skip straight to model setup. Guest mode still gives you full access to all three translation features. See Login & Subscription.
- Configure your first LLM — pick a preset provider (OpenAI / Google / Anthropic / OpenRouter) or a custom endpoint, paste your API key, and test the connection. See LLM Configuration.
- Subscription (only shown if you signed in) — optionally subscribe now, or skip and subscribe later from Settings.

Where to go next
Section titled “Where to go next”- Select some text on any webpage to try selection translation.
- Click the floating button on a long page to try full-page translation.
- Open a YouTube video to try subtitle translation.
- Open Settings anytime from the extension icon to fine-tune preferences — see Settings Parameters.
